Arizona Grantmakers Forum

Arizona Grantmakers Forum is guided by our values, we strive to be:

Collaboration, Inclusion, Inspiration, Leadership, Transparency

Our mission is to merge our collective resources for greater capacity, impact and advocacy. We envision that the merger will enable more impactful collaborations among philanthropic and nonprofit leaders. It will position the nonprofit sector as a necessary key partner with government and the business community to drive economic growth and build an equitable Arizona where all people thrive.
We envision a vibrant Arizona where all people thrive.
  • Our members are part of a network of more than 400 philanthropy professionals from more than 70 member organizations across the state.
  • Each year, we host more than 20 educational programs, collaborative opportunities for those with common interests and networking events tailored to Arizona’s philanthropic community.
  • We facilitate meetings among philanthropy professionals and policymakers to build relationships, discuss key issues and explore opportunities for philanthropy to partner with government

Arizona Grantmakers Forum aims to advance philanthropic efforts at all levels, from grassroots community work to state and federal policy initiatives. We provide the philanthropic sector with the tools to maximize their impact through a three-pronged approach:

  • Connect: Encourage connection with colleagues across the state through networking events and opportunities.
  • Educate: Provide professional development and leadership-building opportunities through educational programs, affinity group meetings and more.
  • Advocate: Empower philanthropy professionals to influence change at the legislative level by facilitating meetings and discussions with policymakers and helping members explore related opportunities.

Arizona Early Childhood Funders Collaborative

An initiative of Arizona Grantmakers Forum, the Arizona Early Childhood Funders Collaborative is dedicated to exchanging and linking ideas, knowledge, research and resources to focus statewide attention on a seamless continuum of quality early childhood services that strengthen Arizona’s young children, families and communities.

We do this by engaging government, businesses, organizations and philanthropic partners from within and outside of Arizona to bring additional knowledge and resources to our efforts. If your grantmaking organization is interested in joining the collaborative, please contact Chief Policy Office & VP, Arizona Grantmakers Forum Laurie Liles

Born to Learn AZ In fall 2018, the collaborative launched its early childhood education awareness effort, Born to Learn AZ. The effort is designed to educate policymakers and political candidates about the value of high-quality early childhood education. By boosting awareness about the benefits of early learning, the collaborative develops champions at the state Capitol and among business, community and faith organizations who can carry its message: High-quality early childhood education makes the difference.

Arizona Together for Impact

Arizona Together for Impact is a funder collaborative, modeling the vision of partnership and sustainability in the community. We believe that through providing resources for sustained collaborations such as program partnerships, back-office consolidation and organizational mergers, we can support nonprofits in delivering programs and increasing their impact.

Arizona Together for Impact works to create systemic change in the way nonprofit organizations in the state think about collaborations, partnerships and mergers. The initiative provides tools and training to nonprofits interested in entering into permanent collaborations with one or more other organizations.

The initiative is one of six similar collaboratives throughout the country. Best practices, research and tools are shared among all the initiatives and their directors. Leading the Arizona initiative is Nora Hannah, a life-long resident of the state and an advocate for nonprofit sustainability.

Arizona Grantmakers Forum is a proud member of the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits and United Philanthropy Forum.

Member organizations include private foundations, trusts, endowed community foundations, businesses with corporate giving programs, government agencies and individuals with organized charitable gift programs.
