AmeriCorps*VISTA is a national service program designed specifically to fight poverty. Founded as Volunteers in Service to America in 1965 and incorporated into the AmeriCorps network of programs in 1993, VISTA has been on the front lines in the fight against poverty in America for more than 40 years. Today, over 6,500 members serve in hundreds of nonprofit organizations and public agencies throughout the country- working to fight illiteracy, improve health services, reduce unemployment, increase housing opportunities, or bridge the digital divide.

Through a grant from the Corporation for National and Community Service, the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits has the opportunity to partner with nonprofits throughout the state in AmeriCorps*VISTA projects.
