The Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits Offers Consulting Services for Rural Nonprofits

Using phone and Web-based technology, nonprofit Executive Directors and Boards of Directors now have access to high quality, cost effective consulting in the key areas of Board Governance and Strategic Planning.  These "remote access" options are specifically designed to reach rural organizations located OUTSIDE of Maricopa, Pima and Santa Cruz counties. (Teams of ESC Arizona consultants are available for in-person consultation within Maricopa, Pima and Santa Cruz counties.)

All you need is a phone, computer and internet service to connect with experienced ESC Arizona consultants.  ESC Arizona is a program of the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits in which retired or current executives work in teams to provide expertise and technical assistance to help nonprofit organizations build their capacity for accomplishing their mission.

ESC Arizona can help you assess Board needs, clearly define roles and responsibilities, and refocus and strengthen board work. We also offer a process to help you spotlight and prioritize challenges, as well as develop a plan for future success and the strategies to get you there.

Learn more about how ESC Arizona remote access consulting services can help you!  Call the Alliance at 602-279-2966 x 17 and speak with Frank Mittin, Director of Nonprofit Resources, or email frankm@arizonanonprofits.org to learn more.

ESC Arizona's--Nonprofit Management Checkup (A capacity building service of the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits)

Identify your organization’s strengths and challenges in meeting nonprofit best practices and develop a plan to improve!

Nonprofit leadership and management teams often ask themselves, or are asked by donors and key stakeholders about the state of their policies and practices.  “Is this organization running right?” Especially for smaller organizations, the time is rarely available to research best practices, assess their organization’s current status and develop a plan to make improvements.

Executive Service Corps (ESC) Arizona, a program of the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits, has developed the Nonprofit Management Checkup to provide your organization with one-on-one attention from an ESC Arizona consultant, working through phone, e-mail, the Internet, and in person where consultant resources are in place, to determine your position relative to a set of best practices and prepare recommendations. With these recommendations in hand, you can create a practical plan to improve your accountability in all areas of nonprofit business management. The checkup covers six areas:

  • Board Governance
  • Planning
  • Financial Control
  • Financial Support
  • Human Resources
  • Operations & Quality

This service is available to members of the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits for $75, and to non-members for $200. The price of this level of one-on-one consultation is easily worth $500 or more in the consulting marketplace.

To sign up for the Nonprofit Management Checkup, contact Frank Mittin at (602) 279-2966 x 17 or frankm@arizonanonprofits.org.
