  • Discuss the eligibility requirements that determine when claimants meet the qualifications for unemployment benefits and the progression of unemployment claims.
  • Learn what unemployment insurance plans are available for your organization due to your 501c3 status.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, you can elect to opt out of the state system and choose to self-insure and reimburse the state dollar-for-dollar for actual unemployment benefits paid. With this method you are no longer subsidizing the costs of other employers’ layoffs, and you are not paying extra funds you will never receive back. You’ll be able to allocate the funds you save back to your program and other expenses.

While the plan offers the chance for any nonprofit to save on their unemployment taxes, Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits members are offered an additional 20% discount on First Nonprofit Unemployment Saving Program’s one time enrollment fee.

Interested, but can’t attend?
