The CEO of the Alliance, who reports to the Board of Trustees, must be a creative, driven and visionary leader who can help an organization advance through its growth phase into a mature organization. The position requires excellent skills in organizational leadership, the ability to motivate a leadership team against ambitious goals, and promote a culture of results-driven performance.
Patrick McWhortor, who has led the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits as its President & CEO for the past ten years, will begin transitioning in April to a new role with the organization Open Primaries. Patrick is grateful to the nonprofit community and its supporters across Arizona for the privilege of launching the Alliance in 2004 and helping it grow into the social impact business it is today. It was not an easy decision to choose to leave his post, but Patrick will not leave altogether: he will continue to be a supporter and an ally of the Alliance and the thousands of nonprofits it serves.
