A federal judge has issued an injunction blocking implementation of the new Department of Labor overtime rules scheduled to go into effect on December 1. The Alliance is monitoring this and will share additional information as it becomes available.

The U.S. Labor Department has announced overtime final regulations that, when they go into effect on December 1, 2016, will mean that most employees earning less than $47,500 per year will be entitled to overtime compensation, regardless of whether they are currently classified as executive, administrative, or professional (white-collar) workers.
A new report, Arizona Nonprofits: Economic Power, Positive Impact, shows that nonprofit organizations like ours are a significant contributor to the state economy. As a sector, nonprofits are responsible for 8% of Gross State Product, the state’s fifth largest employer and a major stimulator of economic activity.
Many Arizona nonprofits were caught off-guard this past July when a letter sent to tribes from the Arizona Department of Gaming seemed to suddenly stop the flow of millions of dollars from tribal casinos to local nonprofit agencies. The Alliance worked with the Department of Gaming to help resolve the issue on behalf of Arizona's nonprofit community.
